INTEGRATED CIRCUITS LAB

The IC lab provides an opportunity for the students to study the characteristics of linear IC's like Op-Amps, Timers, PLL etc. and Digital IC's like 74XX series. The lab is equipped with Digital LCR-Q Meter, Oscilloscopes, Power supplies, Function generator etc. Application experiments using the above IC's are also performed in this lab.

DO's and DON'Ts in IC LAB

Do's

  1. Follow proper dress code.
  2. Maintain silence.
  3. Know the theory behind the experiment before coming to the lab.
  4. Identify the different leads or terminals or pins of the IC before making connection.
  5. Know the biasing voltage required for different families of IC's and connect the power supply voltage and ground terminals to the respective pins of the IC's.
  6. Know the current & voltage rating of IC's before using them in the experiment.
  7. Check the components before you use in the experiment.
  8. Mount the IC properly on the IC Zif socket.
  9. After the completion of the experiments switch off the power supply and return the apparatus.
  10. Clean and arrange the chairs/tables and equipments properly before leaving the lab.

Don'ts

  1. Do not come late to the lab.
  2.  Do not exceed the voltage & current ratings of the components.
  3. Do not interchange the IC's or Components while powered ON.
  4. Do not tamper the kits/equipments.
  5. Do not panic if you don't get the output, try patiently.
  6. Don't exchange your kits with another group.
  7. Don't loiter around in the lab.
  8. Don't throw bits & pieces around.
