its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction
of nearly all of the physical devices and systems, along with controls.

The spectrum of professional activity for the mechanical engineering
graduate runs from research through design and development to manufacturing and
sales. Because of their comprehensive training and education, mechanical
engineers are often called upon to assume management positions.Industry
is in need of qualified mechanical engineering technologists that, upon
graduation, are able to apply state-of-the-art tools in the areas of
computer-aided design, finite element modeling and analysis, and the concepts
of advanced mechanical design to the creation of sophisticated machines and
systems.

Facilities
The department has fully equipped fluid mechanics, hydraulic
machinery, and thermal engineering laboratories. A state of art cad/cam lab adds to the repertoire of the department. It
has all the workshop facilities needed to carry out the fabrication and
machining required of students both for experiment and project work. The
laboratory and application courses provide opportunity for development of
student creativity, use of design methodology, and other aspects of engineering
design.
